Overview
DAMA Northeast holds elections each year for its board of directors. Directors hold two-year terms.
During even years, positions up for election are:
- President
- Education & Programs
- Finance (Treasurer)
- Marketing and Communications
During odd years, positions up for election include:
- Membership & Community
- Operations & Technology
- Secretary & Governance
- Strategy & Transformation
The information below describes the standard process, the board positions, and the requirements for participating. The election process is initiated in April and completes in July. Terms begin in September each year. Each year, we will post an election calendar and a call for nominations.

Eligibility Requirements
- Candidates must be current members of DAMA Northeast in good standing (full payment of dues and signing of DAMA International Code of Ethics and Conflict of Interest).
- Candidates must be prepared to commit time, energy and talent to DAMA Northeast (attend chapter board meetings, carry out responsibilities of their position, follow through on commitments to the chapter and the BOD).
- A nominee may seek only one office in any one election.
- The Elections Committee will certify the nominee’s eligibility (chapter membership, platform and profile, etc.).
- Each elected member of the Board of Directors will be an Officer of the Association.
- All Officers of DAMA Northeast must sign annually and adhere to the DAMA International Code of Ethics and Conflict of Interest statement.
- Each Director must remain as a member in good standing of DAMA Northeast throughout his or her term of office through payment of all DAMA membership dues and fulfillment of any other stated membership responsibilities.
To Submit a Nomination
Please send the following information to elections@DAMAnortheast.org before the deadline on June 30th

- Short professional biography / profile
- Nominee’s resume
- Contact information (phone and preferred email)
The election committee will review all nominees for eligibility. You or the nominee may be contacted if the committee has any questions or requires further information to support the process.
Key Dates
- Members should submit nominations to Elections@DAMAnortheast.org on or before June 30th.
- The Election Committee will send out ballots by email in mid-July.
- Submit your vote on or before third week of July.
- Exact Date will change each year.
- Each DAMA Northeast member may submit only one ballot, via email.
- Corporate members will complete one ballot, with one designated representative identifying as a representative for the corporate membership.
- New Board Members will be announced before the end of July.
- New Board Members will be invited to attend the transitional BOD meeting in August. Their two-year term begins September 1. Their first official BOD meeting is scheduled for September.
